WG2: Creating "The European Voter Database" (Data Group).

The task of this Working Group is to pull together a comparable set of micro-data from 17 disperse national datasets and add relevant macro-data to it.

The objectives of WG2 are:

1. Construction of a micro-level database which integrates the datasets of 17 country-specific National Election Studies conducted over the past 50 years
2. Collection of macro-data for 17 countries over 50 years and their integration in the micro-data base.

Deliverables for WG2

1. Technical Workshop defining the task for national teams.
2. In total 17 national reports on the instrumentation of the available election studies, the trend questions identified, and the technical details of the surveys.
3. Codebook for the integrated micro-data file.
4. In total 17 national trend files, with recodes of common variables into a common format.
5. Integrated macro-data file.
6. Integrated file merging micro and macro data.

Milestones for WG2

Month 3: Working Group formed (late newcomers welcome).
Month 8: 17 national reports on instrumentation, trends, and fieldwork completed.
Month 12: codebook for integrated micro-data file completed.
Month 18: 17 national trend files of micro-data (including appropriate recodes) plus documentation available.
Month 18: codebook for the collection of macro-data available.
Month 21: macro-data file plus documentation available.
Month 24: integrated micro-macro data plus documentation file available.
